Sixth Annual Blue Steel Challenge
Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi is proud to announce the winners of the 2009 Blue Steel Challenge.
The 2009 Blue Steel Challenge was held on September 12 at the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. The shooting event was open to sworn law enforcement personnel that wished to support the local efforts of Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi. The event was hosted by area businesses and law enforcement agencies.
The winner of the overall individual shooting event was Jim-Bob McCarty with the New Albany Police Department and runner-up was Joe Force representing the Desoto County Sheriffs Department and Kevin Parker with the Tupelo Police Department.
The winners of the Handgun event were 1st place: Joe Force (Desoto SO), 2nd place: Chris Robinson (New Albany PD), and 3rd place Jim-Bob McCarty (New Albany PD).
The winners of the Shotgun event were 1st place: Casey Bruce (Tupelo PD), 2nd place: Charles Sumner (ABC), and 3rd place Jason Mitchell (Desoto SO).
The winners of the Rifle event were 1st place: John Herne (Natchez Trace), 2nd place: Jim Bob McCarty (New Albany PD), and 3rd place Joe Force (Desoto County SO).
The door prizes were won by Ken Rainey (Sherman PD), winner of an Ashley recliner donated by Ashley Industries, Russ Gordon (MHP), winner of a Glock handgun donated by Glock, INC and Grenada Gold N Gun, and Greggory Correll (Olive Branch PD) winner of a Smith and Wesson handgun donated by Smith and Wesson.
